1) The first mistake is in bidding for keywords that are too broad.

Bidding on keywords that are too broad will not help you. As an example, consider the keyword “hospital.” Most of the people who simply search for a word like “hospital” or “medical” are not sure exactly what they are looking for. Another way to look at it is that people who use simple searches like these are simply curious about what they will find. If you want to get good results you have to focus your keyword down to one that goes right along with your offer. Utilizing broad or common keywords will not help you determine whether your product or presentation is at fault, because any traffic you do attract to your website probably wasn’t in a buying frame of mind in the first place. Narrow search word terms have a specific purpose, and therefore they result in less competition. A person searching with a narrow keyword know what they want to find. Think like your customer. 2) Bidding High for the Top Ad Position
It just makes a lot of sense to aim for the number 1 position for your chosen keywords, that’s where you want to be. However, this is not where you want your ad to be when using Google Adwords. Many people will click on the first ad on the list just as a starter to get information, not because they necessarily are interested in what you have to offer. Since you’re paying for your ad on a per click basis, you are losing money on every hit that doesn’t convert to a sale. You will actually want to try to get the third or fourth slot in the ad positions, because if a person clicks on your ad, they are more likely to know what they want and be serious about wanting to buy your product or service. 3) Targeting a Low Daily Budget

What they don’t consider is that a too-low daily budget means their ads won’t be shown much, and they won’t get enough clicks to effectively test their advertising methods. If you can’t get the right amount of information to test the waters, you should try to allow for more money in your daily budget.
